Going back 18 years in time: the Dutch-Iranian Poet & film maker Nafiss Nia looks back on the time when she, as a refugee, learned the Dutch language from three retired ladies in a backroom of a church. Through her poetry, Nafiss delves into her memories of a time when the first seeds of a still growing love for the Dutch language were sown, when words such as ‘integration’ were not high on the political agenda.
